Prop 88 Comments

Higher property taxes are coming to California, unless we Defeat Proposition 88

Government wastes billions of tax dollars every year. So what does Prop 88 do? Prop 88 imposes five hundred million dollars in new taxes without doing much of anything to help local schools. Shocking, but true.

How bad is Proposition 88? Five-hundred-million dollars in new taxes! But will that money help kids? 99% of schools won’t get facility grants. The more you know about Prop 88, the more you’ll understand why everyone agrees, that it’s bad for schools and bad for our state.

That is why California’s Democratic and Republican parties, the Chamber of Commerce and labor unions, California Labor Federation and Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, and even the California State PTA say you should vote no on Prop 88. Deal with waste and corruption first before you try to take hard earned dollars away from California families.

Proposition 88 is opposed by the Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Sacramento Bee, San Diego Union-Tribune, San Jose Mercury News, Orange County Register along with parents, teachers, democrats, republicans, labor unions and businesses alike. See the list of all those who say "Vote No on Prop 88!"

Read the initiative. Get the Facts. Read ballot arguments from both sides of the issue.
